Logo Design - Castleguard

I was tasked with creating a new logo design for a property management company called Castleguard Properties in Ardee County Louth. The owners were quite clear in their own minds about what they were after. They wanted a digital illustration of the castle in the local village which is both a very recognisable landmark but also worked as a symbol of strength and security, therefore working very well with the idea of property management.

I looked at images of the castle and worked up an illustration in Adobe Illustrator. I simplified the castle keeping all the main features and then broke up the sections with small amounts of white space so the logo became more graphical and striking as a result.

I looked at various fonts but in the end the client went with the Trajan font which speaks of strength and is also quite regal.
